[ She beats him to the dishes, watching her with a raised eyebrow, surprised, because he's usually the one cleaning - well, up to this point, at least. ]

Here. [ He throws a jacket at her, already sliding into his own. ] Ladies first.

[ She just smiles and leaves the apartment, hands in the pockets of her jacket. ]

I wish I had my camera here, I could be taking pictures.

I can get a job, save up enough to get you one.

[ With a shake of her head. ]

No, it's okay. I can always draw the things I want to keep, y'know?

As long as there's a picture of me amongst them.

I can never capture you quite right. [ A soft, thoughtful hint to her voice. ]

No matter how hard I try or how much I try, there's always something missing.

That's because you're supposed to draw me with my clothes on.

[ Laughing as she shoves at him. ]

I'm not drawing nudes of you, Jace.

[ Laughing again as they duck outside and out into the cool streets. ]

Do you want me to draw you naked?

It couldn't hurt to have one in there. You don't make a habit of showing them to everyone, do you? [ Not that he's got anything to hide. ]

Mae looks through my sketchbook occasionally. [ Teasing. ] She probably wouldn't mind.

[ Thoughtfully. ] She's already seen me in nothing but a towel.

And she didn't faint away at the sight?

It's not that hideous to look, is it? Because I work hard to look this good.

[ Laughing. ]

I thought maybe she'd have swooned away, not fainted in fright?

She mostly stood there awkwardly not saying much, but she did look amused. I'm still trying to decide if that's a good reaction or a bad one, but I'm leaning towards the former.

Well, at least I find you terribly attractive.

Of course you do, who wouldn't? [ Oh look at that shit-eating grin. Clary, punch him, he's asking for it. ]

[ She just shoves him lightly, hands on his waist and her smile wide and impish. ]

Well, every time you're a jerk you become a little less attractive. Right now you're edging towards that territory but you can totally claim them back.

I'm not sure I agree with how this system functions. [ Frowning, albeit teasing. ] Wait, so if I'm going down, who else is there and who do I have to kill to beat?
